FAQsWhat is a Contingency Case?

A Contingency Case is a type of legal case where the attorney or lawyer agrees to forego his/her normal hourly fees up-front in exchange for a percentage of the recovery, if any, realized in the course and scope of the legal representation. In most states, the Client must still pay the filing fees and other costs associated with the filing of a lawsuit or in otherwise advancing the representation. There are other types of Contingency Fee arragnements which you can discuss with your Attorney.

FAQsWhat is a typical contingency fee arrangement?

There really is no way to state what an exact recovery percentage rate or fee structure for a Contingency Fee case is. Each attorney will normally have their own contingency fee schedule and normally this will depend on a variety of factors such as (a) type of legal case involved (b) complexity of the case (c) the attorneys’ degree of experience (d) the likelihood of recovery and other factors unique to each lawyer/case. The best bet is to contact each attorney to discuss their services and their fees. You can also use our website to negotiate the best rate possible with the several attorneys that may be listed in each legal category. As our tagline suggests feel free to "Explore Your Legal Options." After all, the Bucks Stop Here!

FAQsIs there any guarantee that the Attorneys listed on this site will take my case?

No. The Attorneys who advertise on our site make no promise, guarantee or commitment that they will accept your case or accept it on a contingency fee basis. Every case has different facts and legal issues, and this may affect the decision of a lawyer to take or reject your case. Please keep in mind that although one attorney may find no merit in your case, or may decide not to take your case for a variety of different reasons (ex. too busy or doesn't beleive in your case), this does not mean you have no case worth pursuing. Keep searching our site and talk to other lawyers. Tell them about your case - Explore your Legal Options. Sometimes it might be the last attorney you speak with who is willing to take your case. Be persistent and be honest with the Attorneys at all times. Our Agreement with each attorney and law firm listed on this website is that they will consider in good faith taking your case on a contingency fee basis.

FAQsI have a type of legal case that I do not see represented on your website, what should I do?

If you do not see a legal category listed on our site that relates to your type of legal case, you should contact the closest possible type of attorney and ask them about your question, or ask them for a referral. In some cases you may find the lawyer or firm actually handles the type of case you have. You can also contact the state bar in your state and ask for a referral. ContingencyCase.com provides no attorney referrals and makes no lawyer recommendations under any circumstances.

FAQsWhat do I do if I have a complaint about an attorney on your website?

Your best bet is to write a letter to the attorney you hired and explain your grievance. Ask them to resolve the problem. You may also contact the State Bar if you have a serious problem that does not get resolved. You may contact us as well and explain your situation. If there is clear proof of a serious violation, we reserve the right to remove the offending attorney or law frim from our site.

FAQsAre the Attorneys on your site the best attorneys in their respective fields?

ContingencyCase.com makes no representations as to the quality, fitness, or expertise of any of the attorneys or law firms listed on our website. We are simply an online advertising directory that allows attorneys and firms from all 50 states to be listed on our site. In some circumstances you may want a younger more aggressive attorney to handle your case. In others, you may be looking for a more experienced lawyer. Your best bet may be to contact several attorneys and see which attorney you feel most comfortable with and compare contingency fee percentages and fee structures. Again, Explore Your Legal Options!

FAQsDoes ContingencyCase.com ever recommend any attorneys?

No. The State Bars of most states forbid us from making any recommendations or vouching for any attorneys. As a result, WE WILL NOT, under any circumstances, recommend any attorneys or law firms to you. Please do not call us seeking a referral or recommendation as we will simply direct you to our website.

FAQsIs ContingencyCase.com the best place to find a Contingency Fee Attorney?

We think it is - which is why we created the site! Many people are turning away from the phonebooks and moving to the Internet when seeking to hire an attorney. A phone book can only provide you limited information about an attorney. The internet can provide you with much more information including a link to an attorney or law firm’s website that may reveal attorney-written articles, lawyer biographies, sample cases, free materials, videos, etc. Additionally, if you contact the State Bar (normally a good place to go for referrals) it is extremely difficult to get a referral specifically to a contingency case or contingency fee attorney. The main reason being that it is often not clear which attorneys will work om this type of fee arrangement basis. Our online directory provides you with a whole host of attorneys who will consider taking your case (in a variety of legal categories) on a contingency fee basis. We believe this is an excellent resource for the Consumer. Before you pay legal fees, Explore Your Legal Options! There may be an attorney willing to take your case on a contingency fee basis.
